President Obama Unveils New Vision for His Administration

Obama Revises Campaign Promise Of ‘Change’ To ‘Relatively Minor Readjustments In Certain Favorable Policy Areas’

WASHINGTON—In a slight shift from his campaign trail promise, President Obama announced Monday that his administration’s message of “Change” has been modified to the somewhat more restrained slogan “Relatively Minor Readjustments in Certain Favorable Policy Areas.” “Today, Americans face a great many challenges, and I hear your desperate calls for barely measurable and largely symbolic improvements in the status quo,” said Obama, who vowed never to waver in his fight for every last infinitesimal nudge forward on the controversial issues of torture and the military ban on homosexuals. “Remember: Yes we can, if by that you mean tiptoeing around potentially unpopular decisions that could alienate a large segment of the populace.” Washington insiders said that, while the new mottos are certainly in keeping with Obama’s pledge of government transparency, they are significantly less catchy.

President Bush (43) Will Eventually be Recognized as One of Our Greatest Presidents

I fully support President Bush.  I have never wavered in my support of him. He was a great President, and a fine man.

His accomplishments will look even greater when compared to President Obama’s mistakes.

You don’t think they are blunders, miscues, mistakes?  Well, imagine if “President” Palin did everything President Obama has done. The press would be stumbling over themselves to criticize and call it the worst Presidential Administration of all time.

But President Obama gets not only a pass, but continued support, and press cover for his amateur bumbling.  It is very nearly criminal.

Name That Politician, Instapundit Edition

Now, why would Glenn Reynolds conceal Rep. Stark’s party affiliation, hm?

DIRTY MONEY: Rep. Pete Stark. “Stark did not respond to a phone call and email message seeking a response.” Hey, if politicians gave back every donation they got from an iffy source, they’d be broke.

Secret Lefty Journalist Journo-List Stuff

Things like this really remind me of why I like Mickey Kaus so much.

He’s unabashedly Democrat/liberal, but he absolutely does not put up with Left/Liberal/Democrat BS.

And I’m loving the faux outrage whipped up by Democrats on AIG bonuses, especially because it is so hypocritical, so blatantly false, and so obviously just an attempt to channel the folks with torches and pitchforks away from prominent Democrats and their socialist agenda.

North and South Dakota; North and South Carolina; West Virginia

…what does that say about us as a nation?

We can build the world’s greatest economy, develop mass production techniques that bring cheap goods within the grasp of all people, establish and maintain centers of higher learning that are the envy of the world, harness the ingenuity and desire of all races across the globe to create a free and egalitarian society…

…but we can only think of 47 names for states.

You Can’t Parody Democrats

From Brietbart:

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday that Obama will propose legislation to limit U.S. companies’ ability to shelter foreign earnings from taxation in the U.S. He also said the administration will try to limit wealthy Americans’ ability to use tax havens to avoid taxation.

For the record, that’s the same Timothy Geithner who sought (and obtained) illegal compensation for taxes he never paid while he was working overseas.  Now he is the one to announce President Obama’s plan to reduce the ways to legally do what Geithner did illegally.

Sweet.

Quelle Surprise: Liberals Still Lying About Who Had Congressional Majority the Last Two Years

Supposedly, 2008 was the year that Democrats gained a majority in the Senate and the House.

You can see liberal humorists touting that falsehood here and here. It was pointed out earlier that scads of people weren’t aware that Democrats controlled Congress starting from 2006, and that myth just keeps getting perpetuated.  Heck, even the moderate bloggers didn’t think it worth noting…although I know they are aware of the facts.  I guess it’s just that there’s no point in trying to quash a lie that gets repeated and repeated in more outlets than you can cover and dispute.

Yep, the Big Lie works for Democrats again.

And why would Democrats want to conceal the fact that they took over Congress in 2006?

Well, that’s kind of when the economy started to crap out, didn’t it?  And just about exactly concurrent to when the Democrats said they were going to repeal the Bush tax cuts, too.  Coincidence?  No.  But Democrats aren’t about accountability, or honesty, or owning up to their mistakes.  It’s all about advancing the liberal/progressive/socialist agenda.  So much so that when they cause a recession, they prescribe more of the same to cure it.  No crisis wasted, eh, President Obama?

Oh, what I would give for an independent press, or truly professional journalists!
