Beware the Bailout

Doesn’t it seem like the economic difficulty (I refuse to use the word crisis, because it ain’t yet) is being used as an excuse to ignore fiscal responsibility and sink lots of future tax dollars into social/corporate welfare programs that wouldn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of being passed in normal times?

If I’m correct, then my impression is well-founded that govt officials are trying to turn this economic difficulty into a crisis.
