The defense is actually doing a good job. Despite giving up 15- and 17- yard runs, they are holding the Bills to just 4.5 yds/carry. They have also adjusted to defend the short pass pretty well, too (where the Bills get lots of pass yardage).
Even on the long bomb reception by Evans, Carr had pretty good coverage, and wasn’t burned…Evans just made a pro-bowl level catch.
In fact, the defense has allowed only 1 TD out of 4 Buffalo trips inside the red zone. That’s darn good.
We’re losing because Charles fumbled deep in our end of the field (automatic FG), and the TD return on Thigpen’s INT (that I can’t believe was upheld: the replay clearly showed the Bills’ defenders foot on the out of bounds line on the 7 or so).
