Politically Bilingual

In a recent email conversation with a friend, I admitted that I’m a little politically cranky these days.  It’s mainly because the ever-increasing obviousness of liberal media bias just irritates my already-abraded political nerves.  And my political nerves are abraded because for my entire adult life, I have been subjected to verbal cheap shots from Democratic Party friends and co-workers.  It has been nearly impossible to have a conversation about my socio-political beliefs without being called a Nazi, a racist, a sexist, an idiot, a fool, heartless/cold-blooded, or evil.  I have always been careful to leave room for honest disagreement, but rarely am given the same respect: if I disagree with Democratic Party views, they insist I am evil, or stupid, or both.

Here’s another, similar take on this idea:

I believe it was John Podhoretz who once said, “All conservatives are bilingual — we have to be. We speak both liberal and conservative. But liberals are monolingual — they don’t have to be anything else. They speak liberal, and are completely ignorant of the conservative tongue.”

A brief example of why that is so is found through the link.  Read the whole thing, it’s short.
